You’re faster with Snapper

Service Changes Tickets & Fares

That’s why we’re leaving cash behind on Express buses from 11 July. All non- Express buses will still take cash. Read on for details.

You asked. We listened.

Our Metlink express bus community told us they want the fastest possible commute. To get you where you need to be, as quickly as possible, we’re running a pilot of cashless peak Express with Snapper only on board for routes 30x, 31x and 32x from 11 July 2021.

COVID-19 has changed the way our Metlink community uses public transport. In response to this, Metlink have introduced this pilot to help us provide a quicker, easier, safer way of paying through contactless payment.

If cash is your current preference, don’t worry we won’t leave you behind. All non-Express services will still take cash, see the table below.

Get on board with Snapper and start paying lower fares when you travel on our Express services. Simply call the Metlink Contact Centre on 0800 801 700.
