Contactless payments restored on Metlink buses

Disruptions & Detours Tickets & Fares

Metlink can confirm that contactless payment functionality (e-pay) has now been restored across its bus network following a recent software issue with Snapper equipment.

A software update was successfully put in place from Friday morning (22 May) and has been progressively rolling out across all buses this weekend. As a result, contactless payments are now available on all buses.

Any remaining issues passengers experience while paying with contactless methods can be resolved by the bus driver rebooting the equipment on board.

Senior Manager Strategy & Investments for Metlink, Tim Shackleton, thanks passengers for their patience while the issue was fixed.

“Our teams worked closely with Snapper to implement the fix as quickly as possible. Passengers will be pleased to have contactless payments back up and running across the bus network.”

Metlink apologises for the disruption caused and thanks passengers for their understanding.
