Melling Station Closure

Description
Melling Station, and its park-and-ride facilities, will close on 24 December 2025 for about three years as construction of the Melling Transport Improvements for Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi gets underway.
During this time the Melling line will terminate at Western Hutt.
While the station is closed, the area will be redesigned to accommodate a safer, more resilient and accessible transport system in Lower Hutt. The station itself will be relocated further south as part of a new public transport interchange and will align with the CityLink pedestrian bridge, both of which are part of the overall programme improvements.
Progress Update: The station will close on 24 December 2025 for around three years.
