Some peak bus services temporarily suspended due to driver shortages

We’ve been working closely with our operators NZ Bus and Tranzurban on a range of temporary suspensions on peak services for the next six months, so they can operate services with the amount of drivers they currently have available.

The list of temporarily suspended trips can be found below.

Routes that currently (and will continue to) have some morning peak services suspended as of 1 April 2019: 12, 14, 20, 21, 22, 34, 37 and school routes 715 and 768.

Additional routes that will have some morning and evening peak services suspended as of 25 August 2019: 1, 19e, 23, 23e, 24, 26, 29, 29e, 32x and 7. Of these, some services on routes 1, 7, 19e, 23e, 24, 26, 29 and 29e have been reinstated.

Additional routes that will have some morning and evening peak services suspended as of 14 October 2019: 1, 7, 23, 23z, 24 and 32x.

We’ve worked towards only suspending trips that have capacity to take customers on the following or preceding bus.

We’ll be removing these additional trips from our online timetables and Real Time Information on 14 October but you’ll still be able to see the full list of affected trips on this page.

While these planned temporary suspensions are designed to bring you more certainty about when your bus will arrive, please note that operators may cancel additional trips depending on availability of drivers.
