Monday 17 June Update – Trains return to all afternoon peak Johnsonville line services from Monday 24 June.

You may see the Real Time Information boards at stations showing ‘BUS’ still next to the above services at stations. This will be removed in early July.
We continue to bus replace three services each morning peak on the Johnsonville line due to a driver shortage. This driver shortage is forecast to continue to be tight until late July, but we will update you as the situation changes. During morning peak on the Johnsonville line trains depart every 15 minutes, but at this time we will bus replace three services each morning.
We don’t have enough train drivers to operate our full timetable right now. Despite extensive planning, forecasting, recruiting, and training unfortunately we could not have foreseen this shortage. It takes 12 months to train new drivers in this safety critical role. Our training school is full for 2019 and we are taking extra measures internally to juggle the roster and use certified staff wherever possible and are working to return to a regular train timetable as soon as we can. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and are doing everything we can to get back to a full train timetable.
Please allow extra time for travel when bus replacement is offered.
Bus replacements are not tracked via real time information when they replace trains.

All folded prams can be carried on board the bus replacement services when stored in the luggage areas, non-foldable prams may not be able to be carried on all bus replacements, please talk to on-board staff when boarding.
