Roadworks Details

UPDATE: due to the inaccessibility of temporary bus stop #0810- Laery Street at Parliament Street, this bus stop will be removed for the rest of the Petone to Melling underpass construction duration.

As an alternative, we recommend customers use existing bus stop #9105- Parliament Street at Western Hutt Station closer to Railway Avenue intersection to board/get off the route 150 bus service. The diversion map below has now been updated to reflect these changes.

Construction of a new underpass underneath the railway tracks at Parliament Street for the Petone- Melling Walking and Cycling Link will commence from Wednesday 3 June 2020.

There will be a one-way traffic system in place to enable crews to complete this work safely.

Route 150 (services to Lower Hutt- Kelson & to Maungaraki- Petone) will be diverting.

The one-way traffic system and diversion for route 150 will be in place for 24/7 for approximately 6 months until construction is complete.

The diversion route is as follows:

  • Route 150 services will be diverting via Herbert Street - Laery Street- Parliament Street.

See the diversion map below for more details.
