New timetables for NZ Bus. Better for everyone on board. Effective from 8 September 2021

Service Changes Staff & Operators

Due to the movement in the COVID-19 alert levels, we’ve been unable to announce the new timetables until the Wellington Region is placed in Alert Level 2.

As a result, there will be a short delay in accessing the new timetables via the Metlink website and app due to our systems updating in the background. During this delay, we encourage you to look ahead to a future Wednesday, as this will enable you to view the Wednesday timetable for services running on 8 September. All timetable information should be available online from Thursday 9 September.

Please bear with us as posters start to roll out over the next few days.  Installation of new on-street timetables should be in place by 19 September.

Why have we made these changes?

Metlink continues to lead the way with our operators as we develop new timetables that are better for everyone on board as we provide more certainty for passengers and a better shift structure for drivers.

These new timetable changes have been designed to provide more certainty and give our Metlink Bus Community a more reliable service during the current driver shortage to reduce the number of cancellations.

How are we going to achieve this?

To achieve this, some peak services will be less frequent, but there’ll be more options for your journey. This means more certainty for both passengers and drivers.
