Design a Metlink Bus

Customers & Communities

We have an exciting competition to share! Whether you’re up the Kāpiti Coast, in the Wairarapa or a city-goer - we want to know what’s important to our tamariki!

Last year we had huge success with our ‘Design a Metlink Bus’ colouring competition, and we want to give the youngsters of our Wellington Region the chance to do it all again. We’d like to see how they’d design one of our Metlink buses, showing what they love most about the Wellington Region.

The competition is open to all tamariki aged 4 to 18 years of age and closes at 5pm on 19 May. You can now send your entry in by emailing a copy to metlinkmarcomms@metlink.org.nz. Please ensure you keep the hardcopy of your design as we will need this if you are selected as one of our lucky winners.

Six lucky winners will be handpicked by a panel to have their designs featured on buses all over the region - from Wellington City, right through to the Wairarapa and Kāpiti Coast.

How to enter:

  1. Simply download the entry form. This contains a template which can be coloured in and designed for both single and double decker buses. This form also asks for a few contact details so we know who to contact if it’s a winning design!
  2. Pass it over to your budding artist. Time to get creative! Remember to show us what you love most about the wider Wellington Region!
  3. Submit your entry! Either email a picture of your entry to metlinkmarcomms@metlink.org.nz (please ensure you keep the hardcopy of your entry in case you are one of our lucky winners!) Or you can post your entry by mail, or drop it to a Greater Wellington Regional Council office (listed on the entry form)
  4. Drum roll, please... If you’re one of our lucky six winners, we’ll use those contact details provided to let you know!

You know never know - one of the tamariki in our region may be a budding young Picasso or the next Van Gogh!

See below for the entry form and template, along with the terms and conditions.

Good luck!
