Useful information

Cycles on trains

Cycles will be carried on Tranz Metro services, room permitting. There is a limit of two cycles per baggage compartment. The Wairarapa services have their own baggage van and can carry more cycles. When services are replaced by buses, cycles cannot be carried on the bus. Cycles also cannot be carried on special event train services. There is no charge for cycle carriage.

The policy for the carriage of cycles on trains is to be evaluated before the new Matangi trains come into service.
