The Metlink Twitter account (username 'metlinkwgtn') is managed by the Metlink team, on behalf of colleagues across the department. We may occasionally use some automation (such as tools which generate tweets from RSS feeds) but intend that this will not dominate the messages posted. If you follow us, you can expect up to 10 tweets a day covering some or all of the following:
We will update and monitor our Twitter account during the operating hours of the Metlink information line, Monday to Saturday 7.00am till 9.00pm, Sundays and public holidays 8.00am till 8.00pm. Over the Christmas period Metlink information line hours are from 8.00am to 8.00pm from 24 December until 4 January, and closed on Christmas Day.
We will try to respond to all @replies in a timely manner, though response times may vary depending on busy periods in the call centre. In the evenings, weekends and on public holidays we may not be able answer your questions as we need to refer to another member of our team to ensure we provide you with the correct information. We will advise you of this and we will get back to you once the information has been confirmed.
Twitter may occasionally be unavailable and we accept no responsibility for lack of service due to Twitter downtime.
We welcome feedback and ideas from all our followers, and endeavour to join the conversation where possible. However, we are not able to reply individually to all the messages we receive via Twitter.
If you would like to make a compliment or complaint about a Metlink service we are happy to receive these through Twitter. But we need to you provide us with sufficient information for example; time, direction of service, bus route/train line, bus number and description of incident. Sometimes with only 140 characters this can be hard, you can always email us at info@metlink.org.nz . All compliments and complaints will be logged and fed through to the appropriate person/operator. If you require a response please email your complaint and state this as we will not feedback through Twitter.
If you follow us on Twitter, we will not automatically follow you back. This will allow us to keep our Twitter stream relevant to public transport information, and help you identify other Twitter users you may want to follow. Being followed by Metlink does not imply endorsement of any kind.
Metlink reserves the right to vary, suspend or terminate the Twitter account at any time. All information provided is subject to change. We do our best to ensure information provided is correct and current at the time of transmission, but take no responsibility for any error, omission or defect therein.
To the extent permitted by law, GW and its employees, agents and consultants exclude all liability for any loss or damage (including indirect, special or consequential loss or damage) arising from the use of, or reliance on, the information whether or not caused by any negligent act or omission. If any law prohibits the exclusion of such liability, GW limits its liability to the fullest extent permitted.
