Can I take my cycle on public transport?
Bus – No.
Train – Yes. The new policy for cycles on trains came into effect on 1 April 2011.
Harbour Ferry – Yes. Normally ferries can take six to eight cycles per crossing, but it depends on how busy they are. If you are part of a group travelling with cycles it is best to call first on 04 499 1282.
Cycle lockers assist commuters by providing a safe and secure place to leave their bicycle and gear.
Cycle lockers are supplied and funded by Greater Wellington Regional Council and administered by local authorities.
Cycle lockers are allocated to users for a minimum six-month period. Typically users pay a key deposit and administration/maintenance fee, however currently each administrator operates independently and therefore charges and conditions vary.
